It depends whether you are traveling in First class or second class in local train.

for a 120 klm train journey the prices are as follows….
approx
shuttle train – Rs.22- Rs.30 / 120 klm ( non a/c )
Express train – Rs.50 – Rs.70 / 120 klm ( non a/c )
Shatabdi train ( non stop between two stations ) – Rs.350- 450 / 120 klm ) only a/c
if u have a round trip rail pass ( where u have to go to min eight stations and you will get one or two break journeys …..) it will cost u about Rs.2 – 2.50 / Klm )
also check out Country wide rail passes etc etc

Train journey is always comfortable and cheaper and other means of transportation. The difference of fare is quite good.

Hello, it depends on where are you travelling to and generally, it is cheaper than travel by plane, but trains sometimes can be very crowded. Make sure you book the train tickets in advance!
depends upon the distance u r traveling and also if u r traveling in AC first class then the rates will be high
Train journey is always cheaper and comfortable in india. It will take near about 1 lack to travel whole india in 2nd class as well 4lack to travel in 1st class. I hope you a nice journey in india.
